The NSEA Swim community is helping give back to the food insecure kids of New Hanover County, including the 53 children on the Backpack Program at D.C. Virgo!
This Thanksgiving, NourishNC is once again providing every child on our Backpack Program with a delicious and healthy Take-and-Bake Thanksgiving dinner for their family! Enjoying a meal with loved ones makes for the best kind of eating and our community’s children deserve the best. For just $25, your donation will provide a child and their family with a nutritious Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings!
Our “Take & Bake” dinner includes everything a family needs to make a full Thanksgiving dinner together, plus the dignity to have it in their own home. This year they receive a 14 pound bird, sweet potatoes, fresh green beans, carrots, apples. stuffing mix, mashed potatoes, gravy, applesauce, cornbread mix, recipes, a stick of butter, and a pan to cook it all in!!! On the Monday after Thanksgiving at school, when someone asks, “What did you do for Thanksgiving”, all of our kids will answer “ I had an awesome dinner with my family”!!!
